Catherine Kumar is currently the Chief Executive Officer and the Secretary to the Board of Directors at the Trinidad and Tobago Chamber of Industry and Commerce.
Prior to this, Catherine held several leadership positions, such as – President and Country Head of RBTT Bank Limited; Inspector of Financial Institutions at the Central Bank of Trinidad and Tobago and Chief Operating Officer of ALGICO. She also served as the first female President of both the American Chamber of Commerce of Trinidad and Tobago and Bankers’ Association of Trinidad and Tobago and chaired the Caribbean Group of Banking Supervisors.
Ms Kumar has served the country as a director on several State boards and as a representative on several key stakeholder committees. She gained a Bachelor of Science (Hons.) Degree in Management Studies, and is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants.
Ms Kumar has been recognized by her alma maters as follows:
- Inducted into the Hall of Excellence at St Joseph’s Convent P.O.S. on October 2009 in recognition of her outstanding achievements in business.
- Recipient of one of the 50 awards given by The University of the West Indies St Augustine on the occasion of their fiftieth anniversary.
- Honourary Doctor of Laws (LLD) awarded by The University of the West Indies in October 2014
